Greek payroll is complicated: 14 salaries a year, monthly e-EFKA submissions, ERGANI II filings for every hire, change and exit, and rules that change several times a year. Optimal HR Group runs your payroll end to end, so it is accurate, on time and fully compliant, and your team can focus on the business.
Whether you're entering the Greek market for the first time, managing remote talent, or scaling a distributed team, we give you a fast, compliant, and cost-efficient path to employment.

How it works
- Set-up. We review your current payroll, contracts and collective agreements, and agree a monthly calendar with you.
- Monthly cycle. You send changes (new joiners, leave, overtime, bonuses) by the cut-off date. We calculate, you approve, we pay out and file.
- Reporting. You receive payslips, filings confirmations and a payroll report every month, with a named payroll specialist for any question.
Why Optimal
- Secure. Optimal is certified to ISO 27001 for information security and ISO 9001 for quality management.
- Proven software. Payroll runs on Epsilon Net, one of Greece's established payroll platforms.
- One partner for HR. Payroll sits alongside our recruitment, EOR, workforce management and pay transparency services, so changes flow through without hand-offs.
- Ready for pay transparency. From 1 November 2026, Greek employers need documented pay structures under Law 5316/2026. Our payroll data feeds straight into Optimal Pay.
Frequently asked questions
- How much does payroll outsourcing cost?
Pricing depends on headcount and complexity, and is quoted as a fixed monthly fee per employee. Contact us for a quote.
- How long does it take to switch payroll to Optimal?
Most companies move over within one payroll cycle. We take over from the start of a calendar month so the year-to-date figures stay clean.
- Do you handle e-EFKA and ERGANI II for us?
Yes. We prepare and submit the monthly APD to e-EFKA and all ERGANI II filings linked to payroll.
- Is our employee data safe?
Yes. We are certified to ISO 27001, and payroll data is handled under GDPR with restricted access.
- Can you run payroll for a company without a Greek entity?
Yes, as long as the company is registered as an employer with e-EFKA. If you'd rather not register, our Employer of Record service becomes the legal employer instead.
